After establishing a strong breeding program in Alberta, Bruce and Stacey relocated to beautiful acreage in the heart of the Shuswap Lake District in Chase, BC where the work began to convert a cattle ranch into a breeding facility ... and are almost there!

The appeal of the Mountain
Horses is rooted in their calm, inquisitive disposition combined with
the ease-of-ride, natural gait. Relatively rare in Canada, this unique and gentle breed
possesses incredible qualities and versatility for all ages and skill 
level of riders from experience to novice alike.
Their natural, smooth 4-beat gait is becoming very popular and is ideal for those with injuries or who can no longer withstand the jarring of the trot. This single foot footfall can be counted in equal candescence in a 1-2-3-4 rhythm.
The breed are easy keepers and pasture 24/7 and withstand our BC & Alberta winters with ease. Great to work with and their interactive and inquisitive nature is endless and a pleasure.

Each spring we are blessed with beautiful, correct and naturally gaited foals. With such quality, personality and gait our babies sell quickly. Foals are handled from birth and worked with natural horsemanship methods. All our horses are on a regular worming, vaccination and farrier program. All our horses are barefoot.
It is the Rocky Mountain Horse's unique combination of traits of temperament, willingness, gait and beauty that attracted us to the breed.
GMR has a select few mares with quality offspring each year that are available as weanlings and young horses. On the rare occasion we will have horses under saddle but most are spoken for before the age of three.
With our long standing breeding program we know our horses well we are able to assess temperaments, disposition and size of each foal with confidence. We work hard to match rider and horse and provide a large support system to our clients.
It is an adventurous journey and the results are tremendous. Our horses have great new homes in BC, Alberta, Ontario and now in Germany!
